Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) members have been urged to put their own interests aside, this is the message from the ASUU chairman Dr Oghenekaro Ogbinaka,reports AllAfrica.
Ogbinaka, of the University of Lagos Chapter made the plea amid the ASUU's demands to end the strike. Members of the union wanted a one-time payment of four months' salaries for the duration of the strike, the immediate release of N100 billion to public universities and the payment of the balance of the promised N1.2 trillion in installments over a five year period starting in 2014.
Ogbinaka has critisised members of being greedy, and colluding on "illegal activities". He said the activities were aborted.
