Maheeda is this young girl who didn't know who her father was but was told he's from Edo State. Her mother left her with a neighbour at a tender age and ran away only to reappear 11 years after only to leave again later.
As an orphan, she was maltreated by the lady her mother left her with and later ran away at age 14. Left all by herself, she struggled to get everything and that was how she found herself as a house help, bar attendant, and of course, the club girl, and finally a prostitute. So hope you now understand where Maheeda was coming from?
Along the line, she had a daughter who is now two years old. While she was in Port-Harcourt, she met her billionaire-businessman husband who is a white man. He married her, adopted her daughter and took her away from Nigeria.
She now has a good life and according to her, she's now a born again Christian. But before she became born-again, circular music was one thing she did on the side. She later changed into gospel.
We thought we would be hearing her screaming halleluyah all over but what she's doing is far from it. All of a sudden, the internet has been going abuzz! The born-again Maheeda started posting semi nude pictures especially on her Instagram.
Initially, everyone thought it was just a passing-phased thing until it became really serious. The last set of pictures she posted were those of her bathing while she took different poses only that she managed to keep her privates out but she was stark naked because you see her naked butt and braless breasts.
When she was contacted, she explained that her husband had advised her to get controversial in order to get noticed since money and her beauty couldn't give her the popularity she wanted.
In fact, she went from bad to worse when she recently posted on Instagram the picture of a man masturbating with his eyes glued to her naked picture on his computer screen!
Apparently angered by her raunchy nature, Instagram did the worse - her page was deleted! Did I just say deleted?
No, someone just confirmed that she actually changed the name of her page to M9JA. And guess what? Maheeda isn't resting yet- she announced that she's now taking her trade to YouTube!
Now, the issue is how much is too much when it comes to doing all it takes to get noticed? I mean, never in the history of Nigeria entertainment has someone been this daring as to go nude just to get publicity-or maybe she's this free because she can't be traced to any family in Nigeria and her husband is a typical white man who doesn't care.
But she's a Nigerian and a born again Christian?
Nigerians are kinda disgruntled and are unapologetic, unreserved about their use of words just to describe how they feel about her. Many who have been following her story have taken to social networks to call her all sorts of unprintable names.

Ruggedman seems to be indifferent about what she does as he thinks she hasn't done anything as explicit as what foreign acts do.
"She's not posting any nude picture. In all the pictures she's posted, I've never come across any that reveals her breasts or private parts. So if Instagram has deleted her page then, that's a stupid thing to do because foreign acts go stark naked on stage. Lady Gaga was naked in her last performance. Did Instagram delete her page because of that? But i wouldn't support her if she actually goes naked though. Nigerians should just go get something better to do instead of dwelling on Maheeda. "
Another female artiste, Fragrance says "It's her decision. It's her life and if she says that's how she wants to live it then it's okay. Nobody should judge her."
Unlike the secular artistes who are indifferent about it, gospel acts seem to be more pained about what Maheeda is doing, especially when she says she's part of them. Read what they have to say:
Jahdiel Okpoku, a Nigerian gospel singer seems to be confused about the identity of Maheeda. Short of what to say about her, and whether or not to identify with her, simply said "I don't know that girl and won't even want to say anything about her."
Mrs Bola Thani went all out as she condemns Maheeda's way of life outright.
"She obviously doesn't know what it means to be a gospel artiste. But I wouldn't want to condemn her but if she claims to be a child of God that isn't right at all. If I were to describe that kind of person, I'll say she's an agent of darkness because she's preaching nudity. She needs to be checked psychologically to see whether she's in her right senses.
She also needs to be shown the right way to Jesus Christ because God doesn't want her to die in her sins-she's leading people to hell."
Monique who is another popular gospel act in the country is even oblivious of who Maheeda is.
"First of all, I don't even know who she is. Maybe if I knew her I would say something about her."
The management of the only group which has been in charge of appreciating gospel acts in the country in terms of awards, Nigeria Gospel Music Video Awards received an email from us but refused to say anything about it.
