One dies, 11 injured in Osun auto crash on decemb

A motor accident on Sunday evening  in Osogbo, OsunState capital left one person dead while 11 others sustained serious injuries.

The accident which occurred at Owode along the ever busy Gbongan/Ibadan road, Osogbo was reportedly as a result of tyre burst.

A Mazda 2000 bus with 12 passengers from LagosState, was involved in the lone accident.

The vehicle with number plate Lagos XL 463MUS reportedly somersaulted severally after its rear tyres blew out.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, Mr Imoh Etuk, who confirmed the accident said 11 victims are already at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital,

Osogbo and the state hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo.
He said the corpse of the driver is at the morgue of the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital and efforts are on to inform his relatives.

The FRSC commander who urged motorists to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition always noted that the accident was as a result of poor condition of the tyres of the vehicles.

He stressed the need for drivers to avoid over speeding, even as he said that his men were strategically located in different parts of the state to prevent accidents before and after Christmas celebration.
